Christmas with the Grandkids

Christmas 2010 010

I traveled to Redding on the 27th to share Christmas with Kristi and her family.  Those four little ones are so precious!!  We laughed and played and then headed to the movies to see “Yogi Bear” and hey, hey,  BooBoo.

The boys got new bowling balls and can’t wait to get the holes drilled for the fingers so they can begin the games.

Christmas 2010 006

Abby has a new ride on toy that will make her more mobile.  Just what Kristi needs.

Of course Emily is the pretty, pretty princess with a box of new “dress up clothes”.

What a blessing it is to be a Grandma!!

Christmas 2010

We gathered on Christmas Eve for the traditional Danish “Christmas Tree “ celebration.  A prime rib dinner and exchange of gifts and family time.  I so appreciate my children and spending time with them.

Christmas 2010 007

Wow, Kevin gave me this beautiful fruit bouquet.  It looks great and tastes even better.  Shawn and Tesha gave me three wonderful new sweaters and I love them all.

Now aren’t those two cute?  A pose you ask?

There we are again, same picture as last year only different clothes.

I love my home all dressed up for Christmas.  The Santa collection each has a special meaning and the nativity is one I made in a Relief Society project in 1975.  It goes up every year as a reminder of our Savior’s birth.

Thanksgiving weekend

Kristi and family arrived on Friday and we spent three great days together. Lots of food and fun. Monopoly and checkers are the family favorites and now the grandchildren are winning. Saturday was rainy so we went to the movies, had pizza and played video games and laughed.

Sunday was a nice day at Church and unfortunately the weekend was way too short. I decorated for Christmas before their arrival so the kids could enjoy the “season” at Grandma's house.

Hence, it looks like Christmas but it really is Thanksgiving.

Apple Hill 2010

Kevin, Shawn, Tesha and I took a day trip to Apple Hill.  We arrived in time to have apple donuts for breakfast.  We had a picnic and then caramel apples for dessert.  The scenery was beautiful and we had such a fun time looking at all of the crafts and overloading on APPLES!!November 2010 002

Fall in Folsom

I love the fall colors in the back yard right now. The orange tree promises a bumper crop, the roses are in full gloom, the mums are gorgeous and the dogs are enjoying the fall weather.

Shawn's Cross Fit Competition

Shawn and Tesha have become workout stars and Kevin and I went to the competition on Saturday. Shawn is one buff dude!!! First he had to lift weights and he did his all time personal best--- #240. Then it was on to chin ups and he did 31. The next part was an 800 meter run. All of the scores were added up and Shawn's team won!!!
Tesha was a last minute sub for a runner on a women's team and she tore it up. I'm proud of those two.

Summer Fun

Kevin, Kristi and the kids and I traveled to Lake Tahoe and stayed a week at our favorite-- The Ridge Tahoe. We had a great time with swimming and tennis and activities galore. There were plenty of fun evenings playing board games and cards. It was so fun to be together and watch those darling grandchildren having a great time. Uncle Kevin is a big hit and is a great babysitter! We watched the fireworks on July 4 and spent an afternoon downtown on the streets of South Lake Tahoe. Lots of food, naps and laughs and a little too much sun.

Montana Nurse's Association

My college roommate, Marlene Stegmeier and I had a no nonsense reputation in nursing school 35 years ago and nothing has changed.

Summer of 2010 in Montana

Two weeks in the "big sky" country and I can't remember the last time I had such a great visit. I drove to Montana with Jake and Teddy and they were not the best travelers. The minute the car stops, they want out and need a walk. It took a couple of days for them to get used to the outdoors of Montana, but they adapted. I had a week of visiting with family and friends prior to the reunion. Work on the house and yard also took up some time. The reunion was the classes of '69, '70, '71 and about 110 attended. It was three days of great memories. Friday was a social evening at the County Club. Saturday morning we played golf at Sleepy Hollow and had a blast! I birdied the first hole! Saturday afternoon was a picnic at Barrett's Campground with a wonderful BBQ and lots of fun. Sat. night found us at the Lions Den socializing again.
Sunday morning was a brunch in the cafeteria at the college and our final pictures and farewells with the promise to meet up again in five years. What a great time!!

The next week was spent visiting with my college roomate. We went to Elkhorn Hot Springs and soaked in the mineral water and then had a nice dinner out. The next day we traveled to Virginia city, Montana and acted like tourists prior to attending the Virginia City Players.
We golfed and laughed and shopped and renewed our friendship. Nothing like old firends, because they never forget you and they are always there.

Emily is "2"

May 10, Emily turned two and was so excited to have a party. She got a new pink and purple tricycle for her grandma Vicki. Mom and Dad had a great party with BBQ, cake and friends. This little girl is so cute with a smile for everyone. Love her so much!!

Cody and Garrett on April 10, 2010

A wonderful day when Cody was Baptized by his Dad.

Great parents and a young man who is making great choices.

Look at this sweet, happy family on April 10, 2010 right after Cody's baptism.

Abby's Blessing Day

Today Abby Lynn Claycamp was blessed in Church in Redding. I am so greatful to have a daughter and son-in-law who are following the Savior's example and teaching their children gospel principles. Family is the greatest gift we have in this life and I am very blessed to have a special one.

Grandma and Abby. Such a snuggle bug.

My Mother, Abby's great-grandmother Darlene made the afghan she is wrapped in for her blessing day. My mother had amazing abilities and this is just one example of her hours of love spent crocheting for her family. The white dress and cap were worn by Emily just two years ago but were also worn by their mother, Kristi when she was blessed in Dillon, Montana in 1976.
